América Latina Genera. Knowledge Management for Gender Equity.

América Latina Genera is an UNDP initiative that was born with the support of the Government of Japan. The project operates within UNDP’s regional cooperation framework for Latin America. Through the virtual knowledge city on gender, the project pretends to facilitate access to information and knowledge on gender topics in the Latin American Spanish-speaking region, as well as to promote greater interchange and articulation among the actors working in favor of gender equality. América Latina Genera is convinced that knowledge is an undeniable means for achieving gender equality, overcome the obstacles, and improve our practices for implementing the gender streaming strategy adopted in the Platform for Action of Beijing (1995).

Fundación Los Seres Sol - Liderazgo de Paz

Non-profit organization that works in neighborhoods and communities of scarce economic resources in Dominican Republic, training men and women on peace culture and leadership. We conceive social transformation from personal transformation. The first step is training on human values, self-esteem and peace culture. Further on, we train on collaborative leadership, alliance and coalition building, peaceful mobilization, dialogue and negotiation. Once trained, then we organize the community so they build a vision of their neighborhood or community, a coalition of neighbor committees and popular organizations, as well as a strategic and action plan to reach their objectives. Each person trained is called Peace Leader.
