The Health and Nutrition Table was established within the framework of the National Accord for the Implementation of the Social Expenditure for Poverty Reduction, which purpose it to share and listen to a variety of opinions and  perspectives, and reach agreements in regards to the programs, projects and actions to be implemented in the short term (2006-2007) in order to make social expenditure, and the fight against poverty and inequity more effective. In this way, it will be possible to accelerate the process for reaching the Millenium Goals and the commitments established in the Peace Accords.

Making the most of the numerous dialogues that have been convened in the country during the last years, the National Accord convenes these same actors to participate in the working tables with renewed spirit and together with new social expressions.

Other important subject matters for the country --as security, education, fiscal policies--, have their own dialogue platforms respected by the government. One of the working tables for the National Accord is the Health and Nutrition Table.
