Computer Engineer graduated from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, UNAM. She worked in the area of computer engineering during 11 years, at a technical level and as manager. From 1993, she has worked in socioeconomic areas and development projects. Translator and editor English and Spanish. She was part of the Technical Secretariat of Visión Guatemala (national vision and scenario building). At present she works for the Democratic Dialogue Regional Project based in UNDP Regional Centre for Latin America and the Caribbean, in charge of information processes, networking, facilitation of communities of practice, systematization and operative support.

Gastón is Argentinean and worked until July 2010 as Resident Director in Rwanda for the National Democratic Institute (NDI) for International Affairs. Previously, he was political adviser to the OAS Special Mission to Strengthening Democracy in Haiti, chief of staff to the OAS Secretary for Political Affairs, and deputy to the Director of the OAS Secretary General's Good Offices Mission to Ecuador and Colombia. He has participated in several OAS special /electoral missions to Colombia, Jamaica, and Suriname among other countries in the region.
In Argentina he was Director of the Justice Department in the city of Buenos Aires and Head Director of the Parliamentary Affairs Office in the Legislature of Buenos Aires. He worked also in the national congress. Currently he is finishing his PHD in International Relations in the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. Gastón is currently the Conflict Adviser and Democratic Dialogue Project Director and will be working closely with BCPR and RBLAC, as well as with the regional COP in order to maximize UNDP's interventions in the region on these issues.

Graduated in Political Sciences. Master in Decentralized International Cooperation. Studying for doctorate in political analysis at the University of the Basque Country. At present, Iñaki works for UNDP as junior professional at the regional office for conflict prevention and recovery in Panama, providing technical and operative assistance to Country Offices in the area of conflict prevention. He is also in charge of preparing knowledge products for dissemination in the region.

Samara Pellecer Technical Assistant

Samara is the Technical Assistant of the Democratic Dialogue Regional Project, Crisis Prevention and Recovery area at the Regional Centre in Panama. She has important experience in the United Nations System since 1997, both in MINUGUA and UNDP. She has worked as Assistant in both agencies and as National Transition Volunteer in MINUGUA, verifying the compliance with social development issues of the Socio-economic Accord. Samara studied International Relations and Literature at the Universidad de San Carlos de Guatemala.
